Wall-MOUNTED Vanity Installation

IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING WALL MOUNTED VANITIES

Most of our vanities are meant to be suspended, so they must be secured to the wall. Make sure that your bathroom walls are strong enough to bear the weight of the furniture, as improper installation may cause injury or damage.

You must install the wall-mounted vanity on a brick wall or studs. When installing on a dry wall, wall-mounted vanities must be installed into solid studs, strategically located in the wall.

Please confirm of the studs location and resistance before opening the package. Opened products are not eligible for return.

If you are uncertain about the installation, contact a professional.

Installation Instructions

It is recommended that a qualified, licensed technician installs your wall-mounted vanity.

Detailed instructions for the installer are supplied with all of Randal’s vanities. Your package will include pre-installation instructions (summarized below) and a limited warranty policy.

Inspect the product thoroughly before installation to ensure it has not been damaged in transit.

Pre-Installation Instructions – Summary

Water temperature – First ensure your hot water is set below 131°F (55°C) for safety and to avoid possible damage to your vanity basin.

Installation – When positioning the vanity unit consider the following points:

  • Check that the floor is level for floor standing vanities and the wall is straight i.e: not bowed or twisted for wall hung vanities.
  • Leave a gap of at least 6 inches (150 mm) between the bath and the vanity cabinet.

VANITY TOPS: Some models are supplied with a loose top (for merchant flexibility) and require fixing on site. If your top is not attached to the cabinet it is easier to fit the taps and waste fitting prior to gluing. Spot gluing is required.

Ceramic: The process of manufacturing ceramic products is highly complex. During its manufacture, the product shrinks significantly and can result in the product being slightly uneven. It is recommended that the ceramic top be fixed onto the cabinet with silicone. This will ensure the top will not rock or move once installed. Apply silicone to side top edges of the cabinet. If ceramic tops are fitted to wall-mounted cabinets, the ceramic tops should be fixed to the wall. All vanity tops should have a bead of silicone (especially formulated for bathroom use) applied between the rear upstand or back edge and the wall. Ensure silicone is used according to manufacturer’s instructions.

CABINETS

Floor Standing

  • Ensure the floor is level or the vanity is packed under the base to make the vanity level.
  • Drill holes for pipes in base and rear of unit (if applicable) with appropriate size hole saw.
  • Position unit, check cabinet is sitting level and square and screw fix to wall.

Wall Mounting

  • Ensure the wall is straight (horizontal and vertical).

Do not screw fix the cabinet to a bowed wall as it will twist the cabinet and distort the door alignment.

  • Decide appropriate height for work surface of vanity top. Between 33 and 36 inches (840 and 900mm) is recommended.
  • Deduct the thickness of the vanity top / basin or vessel basin and this becomes the fixing height to the top of the vanity cabinet.

IMPORTANT

A bead of sealant especially formulated for bathrooms should be used to seal all edges where water penetration may occur i.e.: between cabinet and wall, cabinet and floor. Where a basin or vessel basin is to be fitted it is essential that the basin be fully sealed to the cabinet and top to prevent any water penetration.

Door Alignment: Your doors have been adjusted in the factory on a level surface to achieve matching height, equal gap and surface alignment. Before you adjust the doors ensure again that the vanity is level and not twisted (see cabinet instruction previously). If when level the doors still do not align, adjustment can be made to the hinges as explained in the instruction manual.

CARE AND MAINTENANCE

It is important that your bathroom is adequately ventilated to eliminate moisture build up. High humidity will lead to permanent dampness and mold resulting in a deterioration of the materials in your bathroom. Our bathroom furnishings have been specially developed for use in bathrooms and are made of moisture-resistant materials inside and out. Despite this, they should not be left to stand in pools of water or be subjected to extremely high levels of humidity. Always dry off any splashes as quickly as possible to prevent moisture from penetrating the surface.

RANDAL’s products are manufactured to last for many years when treated with care. When unrecommended maintenance products are used or when wet moping occurs, discoloration and others may occur.

For day-to-day cleaning, simply wipe the vanities [with a soft, damp cloth and a little mild detergent if necessary. Avoid cleaning agents that include ammonia, alcohol, bleach or abrasives. Rinse afterwards with clean water and then dry with a clean, dry cloth.]

DO

  • Do dust mop floors frequently.
  • Do clean surfaces with mild detergent or stone soap.
  • Do thoroughly rinse and dry the surface with clean, clear water after washing.
  • Do blot up spills immediately.
  • Do protect floor surfaces with non-slip mats or area rugs and countertop surfaces with coasters, trivets, or placemats.

DO NOT

  • DO NOT use vinegar, lemon juice, or other cleaners containing acids on marble, limestone, travertine, or onyx surfaces.
  • DO NOT use cleaners that contain acid such as bathroom cleaners, grout cleaners, or tub & tile cleaners.
  • DO NOT use abrasive cleaners such as dry cleansers or soft cleansers.
  • DO NOT mix bleach and ammonia; this combination creates a toxic and lethal gas.
  • DO NOT ever mix chemicals together unless directions specifically instruct you to do so.
  • DO NOT use vacuum cleaners that are worn. The metal or plastic attachments or the wheels may scratch the stone’s surface.

Marble

Clean up spills immediately to minimize damage to your stone. Use place mats under porcelain, ceramics, silver and other objects that can scratch your stone’s surface. Use coasters under glasses, especially if they contain alcohol or citrus juices. When dirty, do NOT use cleaners that contain acid such as bathroom cleaners, grout cleaners or tub cleaners such as vinegar, bleach, ammonia or other general-purpose cleaners. Abrasive cleaners such as dry cleansers or soft cleansers must NOT be used.

Melamine Resin Surfaces

Clean the bathroom furniture with a soft cloth moistened in warm water and a little detergent.

Furniture with textured surfaces is best cleaned in the direction of the pattern to remove any soiling. Then rub with a damp cloth moistened in clean water to remove the cleaning agent and avoid stains or streaks. Remove stubborn soiling with hot water and a little detergent if necessary.

Mirrors and Mirrored Doors

Use a chamois that has been rinsed in warm water and wrung out well to remove stains (grease, cosmetics etc.). Always wipe the edges of mirrors dry, otherwise the surface may become defective. Do not use glass or window cleaner and other chemicals as this damage the silver coating of the mirror and may cause brown flecks. Any warranty entitlement and liability will lapse in the event of improper handling of the mirror and mirrored doors.

Plastic Products

Drawers, insert trays and plastic profiles can be cleaned with a solvent-free cleaning agent and damp cloth. Do not use any cleaning agents for cleaning that contain solvents, such as acetone, petroleum or benzene.

Handles

Although metallic materials are relatively hard materials, the corresponding surface finish (lacquering, anodization, galvanization) is however not scratch-resistant. A soft cloth moistened in warm water suffices for everyday cleaning. Please observe the following points in the event of heavier soiling:

  • Chrome: Chrome-plated surfaces should only be cleaned with a soft cloth and diluted spirit without applying any pressure to maintain the gloss. Then polish the surface with a soft cloth.
  • Stainless steel: Please use a special stainless-steel care product for cleaning stubborn soiling and follow the manufacturer’s instructions.
  • Aluminum/brass: It is best to choose a damp chamois for cleaning as this gives the surface optimum protection against scratches.

INSTRUCTIONS AND WARRANTY LIMITATIONS.

This product is warranted against defective materials or damage in shipping for one year from the date of original purchase. This warranty does not include damages which arise from negligence, misuse or use not in accordance with the product instruction, and will automatically void the Randalco warranty.

LIMITED WARRANTY: IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING WALL-MOUNTED VANITIES

How long is the limited warranty valid?

The limited warranty for wall-mounted vanities remains in force for one (1) years and is valid from the date of purchase. The original purchase receipt is required as proof of purchase.

What is covered under this limited warranty?

This limited warranty covers any defective product and is limited to the repair or replacement of the product, at no charge, as indicated below.

What is NOT covered under this limited warranty?

This limited warranty does not apply to:

1.Color Variation from that of Site’s Picture or Other Product: Due to the nature of wood, each of our products is unique and different from each other. Any knot, texture, and/or other wood character shall not be considered as defective product. Different texture and grain of wood can also effect on the product’s color. Although each piece comes from the same print process, the color may slightly differ from one another.

2.Ultraviolet Light/Sunlight Exposure: Subtle changes will occur (patina) when wood is exposed to UV rays from sunlight or fluorescent and incandescent bulbs. Window coverings, UV resistant tint, solar screens can minimize, but do not eliminate this natural occurrence.

3.Pre-Installation/Inspection of Wood Panels: Wood panels containing manufacturing defects are eligible for replacement. Return unused panels for free replacements (Check our Return Policy). However, material that is subjectively viewed as defective but meets Randal’s and industry standards for grade will not be replaced. Boards that are installed when visibly defective will not be eligible for replacement.

4.Improper Installation: Failure to follow installation and assembly instructions will invalidate the warranty. Cabinets shall be assembled on clean and smooth table or ground surface. The installer shall read the instructions carefully before installation.

5.Reaction to Environmental Conditions: Wood is a product of nature. As a natural material, it will expand and contract as it gains and loses moisture. Some gaps between the boards during low – humidity seasons are normal and not considered a defect. Maintaining optimum humidity levels of 35 to 45% will minimize these occurrences. Allowing relative humidity levels to fall below 35% for a prolonged period can result in structural damage to the cabinet such as large gaps, splits in the surface, distortion of the boards and structural failure. Humidity levels above 45% for prolonged periods can result in surface warping and structural failure of the boards. Warping of less than 1/4” is not considered a defect. Typically, a door will return to its normal flat position once it is acclimated to temperature and humidity conditions. Prior to requesting a replacement for a warped door, please be sure the door has been installed properly.

6.Adverse Environment: Damage created by moisture, sharp objects, sand gravel, or other abrasive material, scratches, high heels, dents caused by impact, and pet claw damage is excluded from this warranty.

7.Measurements: The accuracy of all measurements, sketches, drawings and /or other information provided on the website is approximate. Slightly differences may apply. Randalco does not accept responsibility of any measurement related errors.

How will Randal correct the problem?

We will examine the product and decide, at our sole discretion, if it is covered under this limited warranty.
